Flatline
Flatline
Brazin Flatline is a replacement type chassis compatible with vanquish vrd carbon kit trucks.
The major changes we made to this chassis when compared to the stock chassis are:
1) Raised belly height 4.5mm at the front of the skid and made it parallel to the ground which allows this chassis to be used in SORRCA Class 1. One of the first things you will notice on the stock chassis is how low the belly is. That is great for center of gravity, but not the best for sharp break overs or breakover on steep obstacles. We added some clearance where it matters most but kept the belly reasonably low.
2) Moved the rear shock tower rearward 14mm. The factory chassis when following the manual has you mounting the rear shock in a more rearward hole on the tower, but the shock angle is pretty extreme which reduces the spring rate of the rear shock. Moving this hoop rearward allows you to stand the shock up a little and get some more spring pressure, or allows you to stretch the wheelbase and maintain shock angles. You can still mount the shock in a similar angle to stock with our hoop.
3) Extended the length of the chassis at the rear 5.5mm. This allows the use of a shorter overall length bumper or bumpers with shorter tabs.
All of these changes are while maintaining 100% bolt on compatibility for the vanquish kit as designed with only the removal of a single chassis spacer in the front of the chassis. Vanquish sliders will bolt on but will be installed at an angle rearward.
